From the Principal

Yesterday we had a final assembly in the church to finish the term. We said goodbye to Ms Mallows and acknowledged her enormous contribution to St Kieran's over the last 10 years in a variety of roles. I spoke about Jodie being the heart and soul of our little school. Her giving, selfless nature has made all of us who have worked with her richer in wisdom and kindness and her work amongst our students and families is simply phenomenal in every area. It was very fitting that Jodie's mum and dad were at our assembly yesterday. The hours they have both put into things that would never be seen was simply incredible. From mending our high jump mat, to sewing costumes for productions; it was definitely a family package when Jodie signed up to St Kieran's. We say goodbye for now but hopefully one day soon Jode will return as principal of St Kieran's. I certainly know she will miss our little community very much.
Yesterday I also asked the students in assembly for some of their highlights of Term 1. There were so many hands up ready to share happenings of a very busy, memorable term. I'd like to acknowledge and thanks our very dedicated staff for their efforts in continuing to make a huge difference in the lives of our young students. I thank Kyra, Zoe and all our parents who have gone over and above to fundraise for the school and provide the students with a canteen experience every week. The Easter raffle was a huge success with so many families winning Easter eggs yesterday.
Have a wonderful Easter and we will see everyone back on Wednesday, 23rd April. During this week the only school days will be the Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is ANZAC day and we will hopefully see lots of students coming together to march down the streets of Moe.
Happy Easter
Mr Mac
Jodie Mallows - Farewell

I write this letter to the St Kierans school community with a heavy heart. I leave with a sense of sadness but also extreme pride, for the time at St Kierans has been a major part of my teaching career and full of so many wonderful experiences.
When Peter and I started in 2016, we were welcomed by a wonderful school community who were excited to share the culture of St Kierans with us.
The St Kierans culture is one that I have loved being part of as it is made up of staff, students, parents, families and a wider community who have such pride and generosity of spirit that I will forever hold close to my heart.
I see this generosity of spirit shine through in the relationships with families, the volunteers who constantly show up to support the school, the passion and enthusiasm our staff show to the teaching and learning goals for their classes each year and in the welcoming vibe that is present in every interaction I am part of and see with our students also.
I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Peter McKenna. I am grateful for his leadership, his tireless dedication to the staff, students and families and in the creative vision he has imagined and built over the past 10 years. The positive impacts Pete has had on students' lives has been profound and I am proud to have been part of this legacy, working alongside him in the Deputy capacity.
Working at St Kierans will always hold a special place for me and I take with me so many wonderful memories and thank everyone for the beautiful well wishes for my next steps in my teaching career.
Best regards
Jodie Mallows

Sacrament of Reconcilaition
Last Thursday 27th March, some of our Grade 3 students from both St Kieran’s and St Mary’s made their Sacrament of Reconciliation at St Kieran’s church. It was such a wonderful night and there were so many students who have chosen to continue their sacramental journey. As educators in Catholic schools we are so privileged to be part of this journey with the students and offer them support and encouragement to make those connections to the traditions and faith of the Catholic church.
If you would like your child to be part of the Sacramental process, it is never too late and we offer supportive opportunities to do this. If you are interested in some information about your child being Baptised, please reach out to the office and they will connect you to our Religious Education leader Emily Marino, who can support this process.

Jodie Mallows - Masters of Theology

Congratulations to Jodie mallows who graduated with a Masters of Theology last month at the Australian Catholic University.
Hendrix Baptism

Congratulations to Henrix and the Sheekey family for celebrating a recent baptism. At the end of last year Hendrix decided he would like to be baptised and begin his sacrament journey with his peers. The following week Hendrix made his First Reconciliation with other Grade 3 students. It was great to see Hendrix so proud in this very special celebration of faith.
Miss Maddie's Big Reveal!

Our fabulous Miss Maddie is having a baby soon, which we are so very excited about! Last week, Miss Maddie brought in cupcakes for Gr.5/6H to reveal the gender, which they were all very excited to share!

SchoolTV - Cyber Safety

This month on SchoolTV - Cybersafety
Young people today are growing up in an increasingly connected world where technology is part of their everyday lives – for learning, socialising, and entertainment. While the digital world offers enormous benefits, it also comes with serious risks. From cyberbullying and online predators to inappropriate content and screen time concerns, navigating the online environment can be challenging for young people and their families.
Cybersafety is not just about blocking access –– it's about empowering young people with the knowledge and skills they need to use technology responsibly and safely. This includes understanding privacy settings, recognising scams, and developing healthy digital habits. At the same time, it's important for parents and caregivers to stay informed, have open and judgement-free conversations with their children, and lead by example through positive online behaviour.
In today's digital age, safeguarding a child's wellbeing must also include protecting their online life. This edition of SchoolTV will help you better understand the digital landscape your child is navigating and offer practical strategies to help them stay safe, confident and in control online.
