Newsletter Term 2 - Week 5 2025
From the Principal

Dear Families,
On Wednesday Mrs Marino , Ms Bianca and I accompanied 9 Year 6 students down to Berwick to actively participate in the Catholic Education Week Mass led by Bishop Greg. This was made even more special with secondary school choirs joining together for all of the singing throughout the mass. Bishop Greg had just landed in Melbourne from attending Pope Leo's ordination in Rome and spoke to the students about the importance of student voice in leading Jesus' work in an ever changing world. It was such a humbling experience to be part of and I commend our students for their behavior and reverence.
This Thursday night at 6pm in the St Kieran's Church many of our Year 6 students will make their confirmation with Bishop Greg. All families across our school community are welcome to attend and I ask that you keep these students in your prayers and thoughts.
Teachers have begun writing the students mid year reports which parents will access at the end of the term. Parent teacher interviews will be in the last week of Term 2 on Tuesday 1st July and Thursday 3rd July. Please write these dates in your calendars.

Mother's Day Celebrations
On a beautiful afternoon filled with joy and gratitude, our school community came together to celebrate Mother’s Day in a special way. Mums and loved ones were warmly welcomed into the school to spend quality time with their children, sharing in a range of fun and meaningful activities. Classrooms were filled with laughter, creativity, and heartfelt conversations as students proudly showcased their work and expressed their appreciation through handmade gifts and cards. It was a touching reminder of the important role that mothers and caregivers play in our lives, and the deep bonds that are nurtured through moments like these. The afternoon was a true celebration of love, family, and connection within our school community

Catholic Education Week
During Catholic Education Week celebrated from Friday 16 May – Friday 23 May 2025, our school proudly joined with others across the Diocese of Sale to celebrate the gift of Catholic Education and the values that unite us in faith, learning, and community. As part of the celebrations, nine of our student leaders attended a special Mass, held to mark this significant occasion led by Bishop Greg Bennet. The Mass brought together students, staff, and clergy from across the Diocese, highlighting the shared mission of nurturing students in Gospel values and academic excellence. It was a meaningful experience for our student leaders, who represented our school with pride and reflected on the importance of faith, service, and leadership in their journey.
National Simultaneous Storytime
On Wednesday we were lucky enough to participate in National Simultaneous Storytime. Some awesome senior girls (Sophie H & Jade) read The Truck Cat to everyone during eating time.
We did lots of special Truck Cat activities in the art room this week as part of the celebration.

Mandarin Incursion
Last Friday we were lucky enough to have a Mandarin incursion organised by our wonderful teacher, Miss Li. This included a Sichuan Face-Changing performer who presented an engaging cultural show to the whole school. The senior children also got to participate in a Noodle Lifting activity, providing a fun and immersive cultural experience for our students.
Please see below some recounts from some of the 4GM students.
I liked the Mandarin incursion because it was fun.
My favourite part was making the noodles because
I could twist them around. – Charlie 4GM
I liked the noodle dancing, and the noodles tasted
delicious! I also liked to face mask show because
of how their face masks changed! – Aria 4GM
My favourite thing about the Mandarin incursion
was throwing the noodles around. Spending time
with my friends was really fun and it was fun
throwing the noodles around. -Hudson 4GM
My favourite thing about it was the noodles
because I got to be in the top 8 people and throw
noodles in front of everyone! – Hunter 4GM
It was really fun and funny that everyone was
going ‘oooh’ every time they changed faces.
Dressing up with the masks and waving the fan
was also fun. I also thought it was funny getting
slapped with the noodle dough! -Alena 4GM

Friday Tuck Shop Volunteers - We need your help!
Urgent Help Needed – Tuckshop Volunteers
We are in serious need of helpers to keep our school tuckshop running. Right now, it's becoming increasingly difficult to sustain due to a shortage of volunteers.
We’re only asking for a small commitment – just once a term on a Friday from 9:00am to 1:30pm. No experience is needed – just a friendly attitude and a willingness to pitch in!
Grab two Mum friends and make it a fun day out – chat, laugh, and help out together while being part of the school community. The kids love seeing familiar faces behind the counter!
Dads, Nannas, or any family members are welcome too – as long as they have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
If you can lend a hand, please let us know – via the office, or on Kyra 0401 266 947.
Your support would make a huge difference!
We rely on the funds from tuckshop to be able to have fun days, add special things to the school yard and pay for things that the kids may otherwise have to go without.
School Photo Day - Tuesday 3rd of June
School photo Day for this year is coming up on Tuesday 3rd of June. Please ensure your child/children are in full winter school uniform, and black school shoes. No summer dresses.
Payment for the photos can be made online via credit card. Please use the code that was supplied to you on your child/childrens photo envelope to place your order. Sibling photo orders can also be processed online using the code listed on the envelope on the oldest student in the family.
If you have any questions please contact the office.
