St Kieran’s First Communion Celebration ✨
This weekend, our parish community will come together to celebrate a very special milestone for a number of our St Kieran’s students – their First Holy Communion. This sacred occasion marks an important step in their faith journey as they receive the Eucharist for the first time.
In the lead-up to this day, our students have been prayerfully preparing through classroom learning, reflection, and rehearsal. Guided by Mrs Marino, their teachers, families, and Fr Cas, they have explored the meaning of the Eucharist and the ways in which we are called to live out the love of Jesus in our daily lives.
We are so proud of the reverence, joy, and commitment the children have shown. This weekend, as they gather with their loved ones, they will be surrounded by the prayers and support of our whole St Kieran’s community.
We ask everyone to keep these children and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they take this important step in their relationship with God. May the joy of this day remain in their hearts always.
Congratulations to all our First Communicants - Chloe, Michaila, Aria, Harper, Isabella, Ella and Cassidy.
St Kieran’s Book Week Parade
Next Thursday, 21st August, we will be celebrating Book Week with our much-loved Parade and Dress-Up in the St Kieran’s Church at 8.50am. This year’s national theme, Reading is Magic, invites us to step into the worlds of our favourite books, characters, and stories.
All students are encouraged to come dressed as a character from a book they love. Whether it’s a classic hero, a mischievous villain, or a magical creature, we can’t wait to see the creativity and imagination on display. Please remember that costumes should be comfortable for the day and respectful of our school environment.
Families are warmly invited to join us in the church at 8:50am to enjoy the parade and celebrate our shared love of reading. After the parade, students will continue the day with Book Week-themed activities in their classrooms.
Book Week is a wonderful reminder of the power of stories to inspire, teach, and bring us together. We look forward to celebrating this special day as a community and seeing our church come alive with colour, characters, and creativity!
Pride in Our St Kieran’s Uniform
At St Kieran’s, our school uniform is an important part of who we are. It reflects our identity, promotes equality, and shows the pride we take in being part of our school community. When worn neatly and correctly, it sends a strong message about our respect for ourselves, each other, and our school.
We ask that all students continue to wear the full and correct uniform each day, including appropriate footwear, Jackets (No Moe Footy Club Jackets unless they win the grand final), and accessories in line with our uniform policy. Please ensure items are clean, in good condition, and clearly labelled with your child’s name. If you are missing jumpers, jackets or coats, we have so many in our lost property items that are unnamed or faded. I have asked teachers to remind the students about our correct uniform if they see students out of uniform. Hats will begin the Monday after Father's Day.
Thank you to the many families who support our uniform expectations so consistently. Together, we can make sure that every student represents St Kieran’s with pride – both in the classroom and out in the community.
Exciting Building Update – We’re Moving In!
We are delighted to share some wonderful news – our building project is almost complete! By the end of next week, the finishing touches will be in place and our students will be able to move out of the portables and back into our newly refurbished learning spaces.
This has been a long journey, and we are so grateful for the patience and flexibility shown by our students, staff, and families throughout the building works. The new spaces will provide modern, comfortable, and vibrant environments for learning, collaboration, and creativity.
Our move back into the main building will happen smoothly over the following week, with classes ready to settle in and make the most of their refreshed surroundings.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support – we can’t wait to welcome everyone into our updated facilities and see our school buzzing with excitement in its new home.
